Who is responsible
Eminent Marine is the controller of personal information described in this policy. To ask a question or exercise your privacy rights, email solutions@eminentmarine.com or write to us at the address above.
Information we collect
Depending on how you contact us, we may collect:
- Identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, and phone number
- Project details you choose to share, such as the services you are interested in, yacht or vessel information, length, port or location, role on board, timing, and a description of the work
- Messages you send us by the website contact form, email, phone, or other messaging channels
- Technical and usage information from our website, such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, and referral source
- Advertising and analytics information, such as cookie identifiers and whether you completed an action on our site after seeing or clicking one of our ads (for example, submitting the contact form)
We do not ask you to send payment card details through the website contact form.
How we collect it
We collect information when you submit our website contact form, respond to one of our advertisements (including lead forms on Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram), email or call us, or otherwise send us project details. We also collect some information automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse eminentmarine.com, subject to your cookie choices.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Respond to enquiries and provide quotes or information about our services
- Carry out work you ask us to do, including surveys, supply, and installation
- Operate, secure, and improve our website
- Understand how our website and advertising are performing
- Measure conversions from our ads, such as when someone submits the contact form
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our business
We rely on one or more of these legal bases under applicable data protection law: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, or performing a contract; our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business (where those interests are not overridden by your rights); your consent, where we ask for it, including for non-essential cookies and advertising technologies; and legal obligations where they apply.
You can withdraw cookie or marketing consent at any time through the cookie settings on our website, without affecting any use based on consent before you withdrew it.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website is hosted on Squarespace and uses a cookie banner. You can choose Accept all, Decline all, or Manage cookies.
Essential cookies are needed for the site to work, including remembering your cookie preferences. If you accept analytics or performance cookies, we use them to understand how the site is used, including Google Analytics. If you accept marketing cookies, we use them for advertising measurement and to help show relevant ads, including Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) pixel.
You can change your mind later by using the cookie preferences link or controls on the site, or by adjusting your browser settings. Declining optional cookies may limit analytics and advertising measurement, but you can still use the website and send an enquiry.
Advertising and analytics partners
We use Squarespace to host the website and receive contact-form submissions. We use Google services (including Google Analytics and Google Ads) to understand site use and measure advertising, including contact-form conversions. We use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to run ads and, where you interact with those ads, to receive enquiry details and measure results. We may also store enquiry details in our customer-relationship tools, such as HubSpot, so we can follow up and manage projects.
These providers process information on our behalf or as independent controllers of their own advertising and analytics services, according to their own policies. They may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by law, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, where they apply.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only where needed, with:
- Service providers who host our website, email, advertising, analytics, and enquiry-management tools
- Professional advisers, such as accountants or lawyers, when required
- Installers or other contractors involved in a project, when needed to carry out work you have asked about
- Authorities if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and safety
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and project information for as long as we need it to respond to you, manage a project, keep appropriate business records, and meet legal requirements. Website analytics and advertising data are kept according to the settings of those tools and your cookie choices. When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymise it where we can.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, the EEA, or another place with similar laws, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to ask for data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In France, that is the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) at https://www.cnil.fr.
To exercise your rights, email solutions@eminentmarine.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we can help.
Children
Our website and services are aimed at professionals and clients in the superyacht industry, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
